“Security Perspectives in Eurasian Regional Context”

8 - 14 June 2018 in Stepantsminda (Georgia)

The Summer School on “Security Perspectives in Eurasian Regional Context” organized by Ilia State University (Georgia) in partnership with Coastal Carolina University (The USA). Summer School partners are Developing European Studies in Caucasus (DESCNET) and Creation of the Graduate Curricula in Peace Studies in Georgia (PESTUGE) - projects funded within the frame of Erasmus + Program.

In the framework of Summer School Georgian and foreign professors will raise students’ awareness about such issues as: theoretical and methodological perspectives of security studies, Eurasian regional security context and policy of regional and global actors towards above mentioned region. Within the framework of Summer School participants will be able to visit occupation line along Samachablo Region occupied by Russian Federation, Ministry of Defense of Georgia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and therefore will be given an opportunity to get information on the national security of Georgia and state policy towards occupied territories directly from decision-makers.

Eligibility Criteria and Certification:
Bachelor, Master and PhD students from DESCNET Consortium Universities who have special interest in the field of Security studies are welcome to take part in Summer School. All students who complete the Summer School will receive an attendance certificate.

Participation Fee:
Participation fee for international students is 300 Euros (including tuition fee, learning materials, accommodation, meals, transfer from airport to the hotel, travel from Tbilisi to Stepantsminda and back). Participants should cover international travel expanses on their own.
